Camden & Islington LGBT History Month 2017

February 1, 2017 – February 28, 2017 all-day Europe/London Timezone

Camden & Islington LGBT History Month 2017 @ Camden and Islington

2017 celebrates 50 years since the partial
decriminalisation of male homosexual acts in the UK for
those aged 21 and over. But how many of us know how
this came about? What about the years that followed
1967: was it rosy for us all? With so much to achieve
for our diverse communities in the next 50 years a solid
grasp of our histories will be essential.
Brush up on your timeline with a programme packed
with adventure and enlightenment. Meet new people and
consider your role in their lives. Throughout the month
there will be opportunities to speak to local services, see
what your community has achieved, and learn what is yet
to be done.
LGBT History Month is not just for LGBT people. LGBT
histories are part of the whole country’s identity and
what is said above can apply to us all. Every event in our
booklet is open to anyone regardless of sexuality and
gender identity (unless explicitly stated otherwise).
We look forward to welcoming you somewhere new in
Camden and Islington this February!
