If you like Peter Kaye or Alan Bennet, you’ll love these warm and funny stories. Come and hear them for free. There’s a voluntary ‘pay what you can’ donation to charity and a friendly drink at the bar. Think ‘Jackanory for adults’ or a ‘live’ Audiobook. The stories reveal what it’s like to be shy, gay and living in Leyton – and everyone is welcome, that’s the point. It’s why we’ve teamed up with the mighty Leyton Orient Football Club to host this world premiere event. Book a ticket and these moving little stories will make you raise three things: a smile, a drink and a hankie.
Written by Rob Young
Read by the actor and campaigner Jonathan Blake, who inspired the BAFTA-winning film Pride.
“A fascinating playwright”, The Times.
“Young has an unnatural way with small lethal details that tell entire stories”, The Times.
Pay what you can. Suggested charity donation £10
All money raised by ticket sales will be split between the club’s own charity, Leyton Orient Trust and towards post-production costs for feature documentary ‘After 82’, which tells the stories of the first generation of HIV Survivors in the UK.
Please note: If you can no longer attend, please cancel your ticket and free up the space for another person. Check your confirmation email for instructions or click here
