To kick off LGBT History Month, University of York Labour Club is delighted to be hosting Emily Brothers, who stood as Labour’s parliamentary candidate at the general election in Sutton and Cheam. Emily is the first openly transgender parliamentary candidate of a major party for parliament. A passionate campaigner for LGBTQ+ and disability rights, Emily has also worked at the Equality and Human Rights Commission, the Disability Rights Commission and the RNIB.
