Tower Hamlets LGBT History Month Launch Evening @ The Reach Community Hub

The Metropolitan Police, ELOP and Swan Housing would like to invite you to our LGBT History Month launch evening on Friday 1st February 2019. The evening starts at 18.30, with arrivals, refreshments and pre-event networking from 17.30 onwards.

LGBT History Month is a month-long annual observance of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender history, and the history of the gay rights and related civil rights movements. LGBT History Month provides role models, builds community, and makes the civil rights statement about our extraordinary national and international contributions.

This year during LGBT History Month we will look at PEACE, RECONCILIATION, ACTIVISM and how this has impacted LGBT+ Communities.

We have fantastic guest speakers attending this year’s event, including;

• Charlotte Dobson, Senior Community Outreach Officer for Parliament in London
• Pliny Soocoormanee, Executive Assistant at the Peter Tatchell Foundation.
• Richard Desmond, Chair of Victoria Park Friends, Local Activist and Volunteer
• Linda Wilkinson, Award-winning Author, Playwright and Historian

The overall aim of LGBT History month is to promote equality and diversity for the benefit of the public.
